Remembering the school years

It is amazing, but I managed to keep some artifacts resulted out of the limitless enthusiasm typically exhibited by young people. As I found them out in my archives, I decided to scan some of them and set them up here. They are in Romanian so they will be of little interest to those not mastering this language.

The “Blitz” Magazine (1967)

It was edited by a small group of three people (Dan, Radu and me) in the primary school “Scoala nr. 150”, Bucharest. There have been 8 issues—in fact only 7 because the issues 6 and 7 where compressed into a single one, an they were “published” between 27 April and 14 June 1967. We’ve got the idea after we came upon a similar enterprise done many, many years earlier by my father, when he was in school. Their “magazine” was called “Chiț-chiț”, its name being the sound made by mice (in Romanian).

You can read or download the whole collection of the Blitz magazine below. Have fun!

“Cazul CMC” (1967)

Masquerading under a “private investigation”, a couple of young people taste the first waves of love. Click here for the complete “digital re-mastering” of the two copybooks of the CMC case (in Romanian).

Eugen "Pelpotul" plays piano

Eugen and I shared over three years the same school bank in the Gheorghe Lazar Gymnasium. He used to play the piano whenever we were in the Gymnasium's amphitheater. Time went by, but Eugen still plays, you can listen him here.
